Each year, ALO7 and its partner schools select the top ESL teachers in the company to receive the Teacher of the Year award. Selection is based on a number of different aspects of online ESL teaching including but not limited to teaching quality, reliability, stability, and QC score. The number of teachers chosen has varied from year to year. This year two teachers were chosen, Teacher Charles and Teacher Abraham. In the past, being selected also meant possibly being chosen to travel to China to visit ALO7 headquarters, a couple partner schools, and present a speech at a popular education conference. Due to Covid-19, the trip to China was not possible; however, you can see the highlights from past tutor trips on our YouTube channel.

This year, I had the privilege of interviewing Teacher Charles for ALO7’s YouTube channel. He shared about his past teaching experience, journey to teaching online with ALO7 and what it feels like to receive this prestigious award. I hope you enjoy watching this interview as much as I enjoyed doing it.
